In 1965, there were at least two Phimister families in Winnipeg: Marshall Phimister (age about 40-50) was a known bandleader in the city. Don Phimister worked at the CBC as a film editor. He was about 25 years old in 1965. He had a blond buzz-cut, round blue eyes with sleepy-looking crowsfeet already athis young age. About 5'8, his posture was punctuated by stooping shoulders and when he sat, he liked to lay back and relax. He worked hard and with a great positive attitude, reliable and accomplished at his work. He spoke with the slight hard edge that those in Winnipeg's north end often used. i.e. he would say "wit" instead of "with." He lived in a 30's style house still with his parents, and was very proud of his miles-long, custom-green Chevy with tail fins beyond compare. He had regular features and was "cute"; played drums in a band. I never saw him or heard about him again, after 1965. He did not mention any relatives that I can recall, except his uncle Marshall. I looked his name up now to see how he is doing, and found basically nothing. This Phimister was a great representative of the Phimister name as far as I'm concerned. I hope he is well and happy.
