Rose Anna Ross, 96, of Fairmont, died Tuesday night (Dec. 21, 2004) at Fairmont General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Monongah, the daughter of the late John and Theresa Spatafore Pignanelli.
Mrs. Ross was educated locally and was employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant for several years. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Anna is survived by her beloved son, Michael Louis Ross of Fairmont, with whom she made her home; several nieces and nephews, including Anthony (Bud) Ansline and Tresa Panella Gerba of Fairmont; and many cousins and many caring and thoughtful friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ross; an infant daughter; two brothers, Samuel and Raymond Pignanelli; and three sisters, Mary and Katherine Urso, and Virginia Ansline.
Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. today at the Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont. A vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Patsy Iaquinta as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
