Ernest W. Pilkey Jun/1/2005 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Ernest William Pilkey, 81, died Tuesday in Tallahassee. Jun/1/2005 He was born in Jamestown, N.Y. to the late Ernest W. D.D.S. and Clara (Bishop), moving to Tallahassee from New Jersey 20 years ago. Mr. Pilkey was a veteran of World War II, serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater. He was a 1948 graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. and worked as vice president of Columbia House Records, a division of C.B.S. in New York. He was a retired purchaser with C.B.S. in New York. Mr. Pilkey was predeceased by his sister, Mary Jane Erickson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris (Haffner); three daughters, Barbara Everett, of West Caldwell, N.J., Marsha Riggs, of St. Louis, Mo. and Camilla Ruben, of Evans, W.Va.; a sister, Betty Ann Wilson, of Westfield, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
