Elaine, I think that our families might be connected as having done my dads side of the family, I started on his mums, my grandmas and I found from her parents marriage certiicate that her dad was called George Edward Pinder and his dad was called also called George Edward Pinder.
When I checked the elctoral registers I found that when George Edward got married in 1910 his mum Bridget was listed as the head of the house as his dad had died.
After checking the 1901 census the only George Edward Pinder who's wife was called Bridget and had a son called George Edward Pinder was from Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. I think this is correct as George's father has the same job as on the marriage certificate. On 1901 George snr is 48, on the 1891 census he is 40, The George Edward I found on the 1881 census is 32 which means that he was born bewteen 1849 and 1853. I could not find him on the 1871 census but I did find what I think is him on the 1861 census, as the only George Edward I found born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire was born about 1849, his father was called Edward Pindar, he was also born in Gainsborough and he was 40 which means that he was born about 1821, this might be the Edward Pindar that you have found so can you contact so that we can confirm this.
