Honorable D.W. Pipes was held to be one of the most extensive planters of East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of David and Amanda (Collins) Pipes, (nee Dunn), natives of Mississippi and South Carolina respectively. David Pipes Sr. was born in Adams County, MS on May 14, 1790, and was the son of Windsor Pipes (born 1740). Windsor Pipes had three bothers: John, Philip and Abner. The father of Windsor Pipes was: John Pipes.
Here is where the Pipes brothers located: John Pipes settled in GA; Philip went to MO in 1811, and Windsor and Abner settled in Adams County, MS which was then known as "Natchez Country."
There is so much Pipes family history in this particular book that I am providing the call number so that it may be found in your library. The information will be of importance to anyone having kinship to John, Phillip, Abner or Windsor Pipes.
Windsor Pipes married Jane(t)McAfee who is held to be the daughter of James McAfee Sr. of Rutherford, North Carolina. (Efforts to verify this fact is underway.) James McAfee died in about 1769 per NC probate records. James McAfee Sr.'s will has long disappeared from the NC Archives, but the inventory of his estate still exists.
Old NC deed records reflects Windsor Pipes owning property not too distant from the James McAfees'. One land record reflects that Windsor Pipes and James McAfee were the chain bearers when the NC James McAfee property was measured.
I have developed a deep interest re the ONLY daughter of James McAfee Sr.; her name was Jane(t) McAfee. I wish to know more about her as, heretofore, Jane(t) has truly remained in the shadows of time.
Just recently, much historical and genealogical Pipes information has come to light (to me) in the LA records. This information is mostly re line of Windsor Pipes who died in early 1800's. Actually, there are three full pages of early Pipes family information which would be of very great interest to the Pipes family; particularily the line of Windsor Pipes. This information can be located in this book:

(2) James McAfee Jr. who married Mary McEntire (McIntire) Green, a widow of Joseph Green (planter) of Rutherford, NC and(3) Robert McAfee who married Anne Green.
Note: James McAfee Jr. and brother, Robert McAfee, also, owned properties in early Washington County, NC which later became Washington County, TN.
