I came across your query while I was searching for information about Major-General Ormsby McKnight Mitchel, who was a Civil War General. (B in 1809, D in 1862)
He had 3 sons, the youngest being Ormsby McKnight Mitchel, Jr.
(B Sept.27, 1843, D May 27, 1875 in Paris, France)
He married Eliza Piquette(date unknown), they had 2 children, Charles Piquette, B Aug 14, 1871, and Louise Clark Mitchel, B Aug.18, 1872. In 1891 she resided at 1771 Massachusetts Ave., Washington,DC.
In an article about Georgetown University, pub in 1907, we find Mitchel,Charles Piquette, A.B., LL, B. a lawyer, graduate class of 1896. a law clerk in the office of Judge Advocate-General, War Dept...born in Detroit, Michigan, Aug.16,1872, son of Ormsby McKnight Mitchel, and Elsie (sic) Piquette...June 8, 1902 he marriedMiss Nellie Lane Butler, of Virginia, of Musical and literary talent...
