Your line doesn't sound familiar offhand. I have a notebook full of all of the descendents (at that time and who responded) of John and Ann Christy Cumberland. My line is from Samuel's sister Jane who married James Cumberland. There must be a million Campbell cousins -- and so many repeat names. My line:Jane Campbell + James Cumberland >
Joseph Minteer Cumberland + Martha Jane Kinzer > Emily Cumberland + Alfred Gilmore Bartley > Owen Brady Bartley + Christeen Purnell > Dorothy Marie Bartley + F James Shockey > Me. If you have a copy of the 1923 History of the Campbell History, you will find us on page 108.
Ida Eliza Pisor married Robert Loson Woods in 1895. Their son Lee Vern Wilbur Woods, born in Hooker, PA, was the grandfather of my best friend. I have done research for her and her late mother, finding Ida's parents living next to James and Jane Cumberland (as close as farms are and census enumerators enumerate.) My grandfather Owen could have called Ida's sister Julia "aunt" as a term of respect, not as a family title. He left very little oral history and did not expose his family to his very much. He died when I was 8, therefore I was not able to learn anything.
Have you been to the Concord Cemetery in Hooker, PA? It is mostly our families. Do you have a history of the church? It was made from bricks fired on a family farm, and the cemetery was a gift from a family member. The old Cumberland farm is not far from the church. If you want photos, I should be going there soon and would be glad to take grave markers, etc.
