Wiseman, C. M. L.Pioneer Period and Pioneer People of Fairfield County, Ohio (1961) says that Rudolph Pitcher was an early merchant and tavern keeper in Lancaster, Ohio (called "New Lancaster" until 1805). He may have been there as early as 1800. He was briefly in partnership with a son-in-law Andrew Crocket. I have absolutely no more information. I picked this up tracing Crocket(t) families.
