In the book by Don Martini, Who was Who among the Southern Indians, he states that William Spring, Choctaw, died at Amite City, Louisiana, in 1870-1875.He was born in Mississippi. His wife, Mary Franklin, was the daughter of Henry Franklin--application for enrollment, Choctaw Nation, Case 3574.There is also a John S. Spring who was the son of William and Mary Spring. The Choctaw enrollment packet: No. 3574 needs to check into to see how they read. It seems that the Indian blood comes from William Spring.
