I have two lines of ancestry from Pocahontas, plus an addational line from an un-named Powhatan Woman born in 1675.
My descent is via Mary Bolling/ John Fleming to Elizabeth Fleming/ Samuel Jordan, and then to three more generations of Jordan`s, Mathew, Jonas, and Martha Jordan/ Samuel Burns to Martha Burns/ Randolph Owens, to William H H Owens, my Great Grandfather. So this is 14 generations to me from Pocahontas. So would this be 1/4096th ancestry, dived by two ??
But I also found out that on my Father`s side there is an unnamed Powhatan Woman in his line, from 1675, that is only 9 generations back. She married an ancestor of mine named Marshall Tunstall, abt 1673 - 1699. And so this decent from a Powhatan Woman would be of 1/256th ancestry, assuming she was of pure Powhatan decent ?
So does anyone know how to calculate the amount of my Powhatan ancestry ? Would it be 1/2048 with 1/256 together being ??
Also , does anyone know more about this unnamed Powhatan Woman ??
