The information I have on these Pogues includes:
"Steward Asbury Pogue, born 9 Mar 1867, Ponto-
toc County, Mississippi, married Lula L Ferguson,
born 15 Sep 1868, died 13 Jul 1962, Williamson
County, Texas, buried Fairland Cemetery, Burnet
County, Texas. Steward died 12 May 1940,
Liberty Hill, Williamson County, Texas, buried
Fairland Cemetery, Burnet County, Texas; known
as Uncle Berry. In 1910 they were farming in
Precinct 3, Williamson County, Texas, just adja-
cent to Burnet County.«"
My wife remembers her great uncle Berry from funerals and things of the sort, but not Lula. We never had any idea her name was Lucinda. Her birth date is from family members.
They had two children: (1) Carl Pogue (1897-1986), married probably in Dallas County Irene Whitt (1896-1991). Carl was born, and both died, in Williamson County, Texas, buried Liberty Hill Cemetery, and (2) Ralph Pogue (1904-1914), buried Fiarland Cemetery, Burnet County.
Carl had Steward Andrew Pogue (1920-), married about 1946 Dorothy Connor; Rev Milton Pogue (1921-), married 1948 Edith Kemplin; Lula Bell Pogue (1924-), married J C Hays, and Evelyn Fay Pogue (1927-), married 1948 Elmo W Naumann. Almost all these events were in Williamson County.
We visited Milton and Edith Pogue a few years ago (maybe 10) and both boys were alive then. Since I don't have any death dates for the girls, they probably were, too. Milton lives near Bertram, Burnet County, and Liberty Hill, Williamson County; I think both he and Steward, who lives just east of him, are actually in Williamson.
