Helen Curtis Pohlman Helen Curtis Pohlman, 100 years of age and a long-time resident of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at the Wyngate Assisted Living Community in Weirton.
She was born on May 11, 1903, in Elm Grove, W.Va., the daughter of the late Allan W. and Zelda Epstein Curtis.
She was a graduate of West Virginia University, a homemaker, and a piano teacher. She maintained active memberships in the First Baptist Church of Morgantown, Phi Upsilon Omicron, Delta Gamma, and was a past president of the West Virginia University Campus Club.
She is survived by one son, George G. Pohlman Jr. and wife, Joan, of Weirton; four grandchildren, Kathleen Conner, of Fairview, W.Va., Timothy and wife, Tamara Conner, of Morgantown, Allan and wife, Gwen Pohlman, of Ruffsdale, Pa., and Scott and wife, Brenda Pohlman, of Willoughby, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren.
In 1932 she married G. Gordon Pohlman, who passed away in 1991. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Jean P. Conner; a grandson, Charles Dextor Conner Jr.; and one brother, J. Montgomery Curtis.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church, 432 High St., Morgantown, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m., with Dr. Donald Ketcham and Dr. Truett Rogers officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Beverly Hills Memorial Garden at the convenience of the family. Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
