Marge,
I would suggest you post more information. You state your grandmother d. in 1974, and you believe you are connected through her to Mary Watral, but you don't give your grandmother's name, DOD, etc., or how the connection might have been. Also, where did John Polk die and where is he buried? It appears the parents of Mary (Watral) Polk are buried in Saint Marys Byzantine Rite Catholic Cemetery Hazleton, Luzerne Co., PA., and it appears that Mary's father was John Andrew Watral.I have the obit of Mary Watral, and I think I have found her in census 1920, 1930, 1940, but find no marriage in PA. of a Watral and a Polk.Do you know when John Polk and Mary Watral married and where?PA.?Where did this couple live during their time of marriage? There is a John Polk who d. in CT., in 1970, whose wife was named Mary, and his SSN was issued in PA., but without knowing more about John Polk, who knows (You?) if this is even the correct John Polk?John Polk is an EXTREMELY common Polk name, so the more info you can post might enable me or someone to find him among the many, many, many Polks in PA., but we don't know if this John Polk was even from PA., compounding the name problem. If you post more info to identify these folks, I will give this another shot.Right now, I am shooting in the not-quite dark, but close. Thanks, Bill Polk, Kansas City
