On Google Books, I came across an opinion handed down by the Court of Appeal for the Third District of California, dated March 22, 1906, in the case of DANIELS v. DANIELS (2 Cal. App. 264).
This was a case brought by Walter A, Adalaide M, and Cora J DANIELS against Sarah L DANIELS, executrix of the will of Newell DANIELS (1828-1904).I noticed that one of the attorneys for the appellant (Sarah L DANIELS) was listed as "C. H. POND".
I know that Newell DANIELS was the son of Lawson DANIELS and Clarissa Underwood POND (1803-1872), all of Holliston, Mass.I'm curious whether the attorney for his widow (apparently in California) was a relative known to Newell DANIELS or whether this is merely a coincidence.
I have found a Charles Henry POND, b. 1832, son of Newell and Elvira H. POND in the Vital Records of Holliston, but he would have been 74 years of age in 1906, if he reached that age. Perhaps this California attorney was his son.Does anyone here know of an attorney "C. H. POND"?
Incidentally, I'm a gg-grandson of Newell DANIELS, g-grandson of Adalaide M STODDARD, and grandson of Cora Jean DANIELS. -- David Thomas Sugar Land, Texas
