There were four Irvin households enumerated in the 1840 US Census, Russell Co, KY-Larkin, Franklin, Andrew, & Squire. (Research to date has not disclosed relationship among the four, if any.) The Larkin Irvin household contained 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, and 1 male 20-30, assumed to be Larkin; and 1 female 20-30, assumed to be his wife. An undocumented source identified her as Margaret Paul with a marriage date of 24 October 1832. Research to date has revealed no information on parentage or date and PoB for either Larkin or his wife.
On 11 Oct 1847, the Russell Co Probate Court appointed James McBath [also found as McBeth and McBeath] guardian of the 4 Larkin Irvin orphans: Mary Ann, William, James, and John. In 1850, McBeth reported to the court that he received $160 dollars for the orphans; he did not identify the source.
In the James McBeth household enumerated on the 1850 Census, Russell Co, KY, were two Irvin orphans: Mary Ann Irwin, age 14, born KY and William Irvin, age 20, born KY.

In 1852, McBeth reported to the court that the orphan’s ages were: Mary Ann about 18, William about 20, James about 10, and John about 14. He also stated that Mary Ann had intermarried with [name illegible] POPPLEWELL. No further guardian report by Mcbeth was found in the probate Court records.
