Researching the Poston line of my husband's family, Hester Leggett Cox (daughter of Jacob and Cecelia Cox of Marion Co., SC) married Robert Coleman Poston (son of Josiah Poston and Prudence Coleman also of Marion Co., SC).Refer to Chapter 10 of A Poston Family of SC.Currently looking into Hugh and Ann Poston family. The author of A Poston Family of SC names 11 children for Hugh and Ann,the last being Sarah Amanda Poston.Does anyone have difinitive proof that Sarah Amanda was a Poston prior to her marriage to Robert Thomas Poston.1850 Census records for Marion Co., SC lists children of Hugh and Ann: Benjamin, Andrew, Elizabeth, Lucinda, Hugh, Margaret and Daniel Poston all living together.Hugh, father of these children had passed as of 1846 (per headstone at Union Baptist Church Cemetery at Hannah, Florence Co., SC) and some researches say Ann (Lawson??) Poston did not pass until 1880 (Although she is buried with husband, headstone does not indicate DOD).Have found records which indicate Sarah Amanda's last name could have been ARD prior to marriage.Anyone with thoughts regarding same is welcomed to e-mail me directly at Beth01@cox.net or share online.Have much research on Poston family and would like to communicate with other Poston researchers."A Poston Family of SC" book good guideline, but finding some errors. Robert Thomas Poston and Sarah A. (wife of R. T. Poston), both buried at Poston Cemetery near Hannah, Florence Co., SC.Family plot there also records additional son, ROBERT E., SON OF R. T. AND SARAH M. POSTON, born: 01 May 1880, died Aug 07, 1880.Is Sarah a "blood Poston" or only Poston by marriage?
