According to Donnelly's book "Edward Willett - Colonial Maryland Pewterer": Griffith Willett was born 12/23/1750 in Prince George's County, MD, the son of William Willett and Mary Griffith. He was often recorded in records as "Griffin." He married Mary Ferree Grafft, the widow of George Grafft, and the daughter of Abraham Ferree and Elizabeth Eltinge of Lancaster, PA in Frederick Co, MD on 11/20/1783. She had three sons by her first marriage -- David Grafft who married Susan Willett, Jacob Grafft who married Nancy Willett, and Abraham Grafft who married Eunice Pottenger. By 1797 Griffith Willett and his family and his three Grafft step-sons were living in Nelson Co, Ky. He purchased 400 acres of land on the west side of the fork of Pottinger's Creek. His step-son Jacob Grafft purchased 100 acres.
