Will of Morris Powelson, Genesee Co., MI 1886
I found this will up at the Flint Library.
Powelson, Morris, of the Town of Richfield, Genesee Co., Mich, declares his will 24 Apr 1886 and provides his entire estate for his wife Maria Jane Powelson during her natural life. Upon her death, from whatever may be left, bequeaths to daughters Adalina Jan VanScoit(?) and Levizie Alsynia Uptegraff a sum of money and each half of the funrniture, except "4 feather beds and 4 new bed quilts." The residue of the estate equally among four sons: Amos Martin, Nelson Bartholomew, Albert Adelbert, Jonathan Morris Powelson. Wishes nothing to be bequeathed to grandchildren: Francis Powelson, Charles Powelson, Vilo Powelson, Alsynia Powelson, Lillie Powelson, and Eddie Miller (Ellingston Miller). Appoints wife Mary Jane Powelson sole executor. Wit: Frank B. Leland and Wellington Post. Seal of Probate 24 Apr 1886, Register of Deeds received for record 10 May 1888 (Book 1, page 394)

This will clears up a few things. 1, Francis, Charles and Vilo where the grandchildren of Morris. We already know that they where the children of Alfred, hence we now have Proof that Alfred was the son of Morris. 2, I had been confused by all the different names that I found on Census records, for example, Nelson is found in the 1860 census but not in the 1870, however Bartholmew is in the 1870... stuff like that.
