Anna, I can't get to my files tonite, but "off the top of my heaD"my Anna or Ann Poyner Griffith died before 1860 in Marion Co., Ark & may be buried in the Rockhouse Cemetery.Your Ann seems to be her; my Anna named her sons Samuel, George etc.Do you have a date of death on her husband, Harvey Griffith? He just disappeared after 1860.
It interests me that some of the family migrated to Texas. Anna's son, Samuel Patrick, age 12, showed up in Texas after the war with an unknown male adult. The man died leaving Samuel alone. He lived w/a family in Kaufman Co,Tx until at 16, he bought his own farm & married.I wonder if he could have been trying to reach the other Poyners.Do you have any idea where they settled.
Strangely enough, there is a Poyner, Texas.I have wondered if there was any connection. If you have any thing else, please let me know and thanks for replying.Suzanne
