You will find the following address of interest. It lists where Brent Poynter is buried.http://www.shutdown.com/~bethg/yell/yelizhall.htmlhttp://www.shutdown.com/~bethg/yell/yelizhall.html
The above is a list of people buried at the Elizabeth Hall Cemetery in Logam Co. AR, including Brent, Annie, John H. and Lollie (Lillie?).The only dates given are for Brent's son John H.
I have more information about Brent's ancestors, but have not been able to locate him on censuses other than 1860, 1870, 1920 and 1930.
Ten years ago I received an email from a related Poynter with the following message sent to the [email protected] regarding Brent Poynter (of which I am the administrator):
"I received an email from .......She is trying to find information on Brent Poynter, b. March 10, 1860.She recalls her father talking about how her "uncle" Brent decided to take a couple of hound dogs, his rifle and ammunition, beans, coffee, etc., and go live like a hermit on River Mountain at Delaware in Logan Co. AR.Actually, it was her mother (still living) who gave her the name of the mountain. Her Aunt Laura tells her that he had fathered some children in Logan County prior to his deciding to become a hermit. She says she is very intrigued by this information and would like to find out why he shunned civilization to go live like a hermet."
I research all Pointer/Poynters in the US, and have quite a bit of information on Brent's grandparents, but among other things, I have never heard of his father being referred to as Henry Cornelius Poynter, albeit Brent might have descended from a Cornelius Poynter, and there were several others known as Henry Cornelius Poynter.
If you will contact me directly by email, I will be glad to fill you in on some of the information I have.
Linda
