I was hoping someone may be able to help me. My gt gt grandmother was Margaret Prendible/Prendiville, born around 1830, whose father was Maurice Pren*, a Cooper by trade. I have totally exhausted all avenues in the search for her Irish origins. I have paid many genealogists, travelled to Ireland to try to search myself, and tried all I can to find where she was actually from in Ireland. She married a Morgan Kelly in England in 1855 and all she ever said on official records is that she came from Ireland. On the 1881 census, they both said they were from Cork, but I wonder if that was just the port they left Ireland from.I know there was a Margaret Prendiville born to a Maurice who was a wealthy farmer in Cork or Kerry( I can't quite remember which) at the right time, but she said on her marriage certificate that her dad was a Cooper so this doesn't seem right.
