My Perry family history, researched & written in the 1930's by Charles M. Perry, includes the following about the Prentiss family. Hope it can help someone connect to their ancestry.
"Henry1 Prentiss was an early emigrant.He probably settled in Sudbury, but was in Cambridge before 1643. He died June 9, 1654. He was a farmer.
Soloman2 Prentiss, son of Henry was born Sept 23, 1646. He married first Elizabeth ___ who died. Second, Hepzibah before 1676. He was a farmer and brickmaker. In 1672 he bought a house and land on the westerly side of Cambridge common and built a new house. He died July 24, 1719, aged 72 years. His widow Hepzibah died Jan 5, 1741 or 2 aged 88.
Nathaniel3 Prentiss was the 7th child of Soloman and Hepzibah. He was born Oct 18, 1689. He married Hannah3 Wyeth in 1712. He was a brickmaker. He died Oct 24, 1722. His widow Hannah married 2d. Jason Winship in 1724.
Nathaniel4 Prentiss was second child of Nathaniel3. He was born May 19, 1715. He was a tailor and lived in Sherborn. He married Abigail4 Ware Sept 2, 1742. She died in Sherborn Mar 1, 1788.
Stephen5 Prentiss, son of Nathaniel4, was born July 23, 1752. He married Hannah7 Babcock June 2, 1773. She was born Nov 8, 1756.
Rebecca6 Prentiss daughter of Stephen5 was the oldest child. She was born Aug 22, 1774. She married Daniel7 Perry Apr 9, 1795.
