Hello, I am looking for descendants of my family. My great, great, great Grandfather, John Preston, who, was originally from Bedford Co., VA., moved from Bedford Co. to Wilson County, Tennessee sometime around 1835. He had six sons, and four daughters. His sons were named William Booker Preston, Stephen Smith Preston, Thomas Pleasant Preston, John Clement Preston, Joshua Earl Preston and James Steptoe Preston. Three of the six brothers were killed during the Civil War and three survived. 1st Lt. Thomas P. Preston was with the 42nd Alabama Infantry when he was killed at the Battle of Reseca,Ga. and Sgt. William B. Preston was with Co. F 4th Alabama Reserves. I understand he was captured and later died while in custody. The third and youngest brother who was killed was James Steptoe Preston, who, was unmarried. I believe the next generation of Preston descendants came from Bedford Co., Va., Wilson Co., Tenn., Monroe Co. Alabama and Memphis, Tenn. S.S. Preston survived the war and raised his family in Tennessee. Joshua Earl Preston and my great, great Grandfather, John Clement Preston survived the war and lived out the remainder of their lives in Grimes County, Texas. I have no information regarding the sons and daughters of the family of John Preston.
If anyone would like to get in touch with me, my name is John L. Preston and my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Looking forward to meeting any of my relatives.
