Hi Deborah! Well according to my sources the William Tarply Prickett that you are talking about was the son of Dr. Wiley John Prickett(1810-1892) who was the eldest son of Joel Prickett(1787-1855) The "younger" Joel is styled Joel PrickettII(1826-1863) didn't have a son named William Tarpley and he died in Delaware during the Civil War.He was the 9th child and 5th son of Joel Prickett(1787-1855). This Joel PrickettII was married in Coosa Co.,Alabama in 1847 to Louisa Dunlop(1826-1875) who was born in South Carolina and died in Cleveland Co., Arkansas. They were the parents of 7 children:
Joel Wiley Prickett(1848-1861)
John Wesley Prickett(1850-1928)married Sarah E. Brown(1855-1883)January 16,1872 in Ashley Co., Arkansas .They had 5 children>
Mary Catherine Prickett(1851-1890) married Eilliam Jefferson Rodgers(died 1916) September 8, 1870 in Arkansas They had 8 children
Louisa Alice Prickett(1854-1938) married James Monroe Greenlee(1846-1926). They had 9 children.
Ella Ann Prickett(1857-1863)
Susan Emma Prickett(Boren 1860) married Vincent Kesterson. 1 child
Joel William F. Prickett(1863-1883) All of these lived in Arkansas. So the william Tarpley Prickett you have may not be one of ours. There are several other Prickett families that are not documented or traced who may be related and I don't have them in my data. I am interested though in the fact that you said that Israel and a brother came here from England. This may be a wholly different family entirely but I would like to explore it. If you have any other date like that letter or document you have now please let me know. There are several researchers that would be interested. Mark
