Dianne, many thanks for closing this gap. Now I understand a comment on genealogy documents that were done in the 70's by a relative in N. Louisiana. It mentioned the "other Mhoon-Pride line" which now makes sense to me.
I'm a descendant of John Mhoon and James George Mhoon who died on January 15, 1853. If you would like a photo of his portrait I'll be happy to email to you. Also have two recent Mhoontown photos of the massive Mhoon grave monuments and one that dates back many years.
Just bought a copy of "Two Hundred Years At Muscle Shoals" by Nina Leftwich (A steal for $10 on eBay). I found the stories of your ancestor James Mhoon, Scout, in Roddy's Cavelry to be quite interesting.
I'm a bit confused by the "older members" comment, "Mrs. Rita Dailey, author of "A History of the Rose Trail" said in a recent interview that very little is known about the family. "The Mhoons were the older members of the Pride family, a well-known Colbert county family."
Thanks again, I'll touch base again when I sort out my Mhoon line.
