Deposition: Case of Nathaniel Pride No.371.565 10th day of March 1892.Near Oakland City County of Gibson state of Indiana..James A Buchanan examiner..appeared Burrell Pride. My name is Burrell Pride. Am 67 years old am a farmer and my address is Oakland City-Gibson County Indiana. I was a cousin of Wilsey Pride and of Henry Pride. They lived up about Otwell. Wilsey went by the name of "Will" his oldest son was Thomas. And Per.Palmer raised his younger son think his name was Nathaniel. I moved from their neighborhood to this one just after the close of the war. I think about 1865. Will or Wilsey did not die in this neighborhood, he was in here for a short time some two or three years after the war and moved west I think to Arkansas as some twenty miles or so from where his brother Henry lived in Missouri. I think Warren? Fowler went with him or went to the same neighborhood as Will did, Warren is dead. Then came word back here that Will Pride was dead. I think it came from W.Fowler's widow Polly. She is living yet I heard in Arkansas as about four miles from Poplar Bluff.Mo. He moved west and died out there. If he had died in this neighborhood I would have known it. I never heard that he had died on the road out there or in this county.
