Mary Sapp, William Pride's mother and Henry Pride's wife, is the granddaughter of a John and Ann (surname unknown) Hall Pride and the daughter of their daughter, Sarah Pride b. 1762 and husband, Joseph Sapp.Joseph Sapp, Mary Sapp's father, was born ca. 1760 and died Sept. 16, 1837.He was a patriot of the Revolution and was said to be the oldest pensioner in VA.*From a Sapp Family Early History - 1920.
Mary's name and relationship to Joseph and Sarah "Polly" Sapp also comes from Sussex County, Delaware records dated December 20, 1789 -- Joseph Sapp with wife Sarah and daughter Mary.
Mary is living with her daughter and son-in-law, Jonah and Sarah 'Sally' Pride Stansberry in the 1860 census of Philippi PO, Barbour County, VA.Mary Sapp Pride is 80 years old in 1860.
