Hello - Eleanor and Meghan.I too am doing a bit of research on the Prieskorn family.Although my motive is a bit different than yours I believe.I am the owner of the house at 357 S. Venoy Road in Westland, Wayne County, Michigan.I was reading your post, Eleanor outloud to my husband to tell him about the dates and children etc. and as I read I unknowingly was reading my own street address outloud to him. That was a very stange feeling.I am looking to find out more information about this house and the family that built(?) and occupied it.Some things that I know about the home and family are that the actual date of construction seems to be a bit of a mystery.I was told but I'm not sure of the reliability of the sources, that Helen lived there with her son for a time but reading these posts it sounds like it may have been her brother instead. The house was left abandoned for a few years after Helen was placed into a nursing home.At that time it was purchased by a man named Hallman that updated the plumbing/electrical/heating etc.I purchased it from him in 1991 and have made many improvements as the roof was failing as it had many layers of shingles over its original cedar shakes.House must have been a gem when originally contructed but it had certainly seen better days when I acquired it.Now, unfortunately, I am selling this wonderful home and trying to document a bit of it's and it's families history to save it from a potential developer's recking ball.Any information you could help me with would be so very appreciated. The house holds a special place in my heart and I am really trying to market it to someone that will appreciate it and it's place in history as much as I do.It currently exists on approx. 2 1/4 acres but I understand that the property may have originally been approx. 40 acres of farm land and backed up to a golf course that was built by some Prieskorn sons.I was told 3 sons were Pro Golfers.I hope to hear from you soon with any family history that may help me to save the Prieskorn Family Home.
