SAN JOSE - Charles R. Probasco, 93, of San Jose died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
He was born Aug. 11, 1913, in rural San Jose, the son of David and Lillian Zimmerman Probasco. He married Margery Elizabeth Leavitt in 1937 in Crawfordsville, Ind.; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Probasco graduated from San Jose High School. He was a welder with Local 974 and retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1978 after 42 years. He was a member of San Jose United Methodist Church, Delavan Masonic Lodge 156, Blue Lodge 32nd Level Consistory and Peoria Shriners Lodge. He was a past master of the San Jose Lodge.
Survivors: two sons, Errol (wife, Jalna) Probasco of Palos Heights and Carroll (wife, Patricia) Probasco of San Jose, four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Hurley Funeral Home, San Jose, the Rev. Al Sample officiating. Burial: Green Hill Cemetery, San Jose.
