Gary, We've been "poking around" in two good collections here in central Indiana. I found some Wilkie items that may be of interest;
Re colonial Virginia shipping; The "Neptune" to Virginia carried goods for the Virginia Company under contract with "Cape merchant' Alexander Wilkie.
A James Wilkie listed among taxpayers of Prince William County,Virginia,1872.
In Charleston,S.C. William Wilkie, a carpenter,co-executor of a 1775 will. Also William Wilkie held prisoner on British ship "Torbay" in Charleston harbor, 1781. Then William Wilkie in 1832 heir of Peter, Glasgow grocer.
I don't know if these items are helpful-don't mean to pester you. Have you looked at the Prophet Family Book (microfilm) from the Mormon collection?
