I posted this under Dollar/Crow/Fitzgerald, thought you folks might be able to help also?
Looking for information on a Samuel Fitzgerald and family of Elbert/Franklin Co., GA.I do not have birth/death/or parents, but from the Dollar surname at GenForum, I believe Samuel may have married a Ambrose Dollar's (b. 1755-1760 VA?, d. 14 Nov. 1835 Shelby Co., AL) daughter, Nancy Dollar b. abt. 1787 in Spartanburg Dist. SC. died unknown. One Ambrose Dollar is belived to have owned land in Spartanburg Dist. SC among the Spartanburg SC Crows. Other Fitzgerald/Gerrald/Garrells in Elbert/Franklin Co. GA, about the same time period c1814-1829, besides Samuel Fitzgerald, were Eli and William, likely William F. Fitzgerald.
Eli Fitzgerald transacted Franklin Co. GA property with: Salley Swift; and from the estate of Flour Swift, c1817-1829.
Samuel F. Fitzgerald transacted Franklin Co. GA property with: John Marchant[Merchant?]; Zachariah White; Clemant Dollar (likely brother to Nancy Dollar); Samuel & Isaac Sewell; Lewis Redwine; William F. Gerrald; James Sutley; Dennis Phillips; and James Vaughters, all c1817-1829
William F. Fitzgerald transacted Franklin Co. GA property with: Redfern & Elizabeth Weems c.1811; and Samuel F. Gerrald c.1825-1929
Samuel F. Gerrald/Fitzgearld and a James Prothro were neighbors of my presumed to be GGG Grandfather, Samuel Crow [b. 1770-1780 where?, probably d. bef. 1850 Hall Co., GA], on or near the Savannah River in Elbert Co., now Hart Co., GA c1814. Samuel Crow bought property from a Isaac Merchant (related to John Marchant above perhaps?) in Franklin Co. GA c1818, and both Samuel F. Gerald and James Prothro appear on that deed as wittnesses.
Anyone connect with any of these folks, or shed any light on the relationship, if any?
