I seem to recall some discussion about Lydia House on the boards, but do you have supporting evidence that she was the mother of Burpee Prouty rather than Esther Smith? The Prouty/Proute book puts Lydia House as the wife of Richard Sr. & Esther Smith as wife of Richard Jr.If Lydia was about the same age as Richard Sr. that makes her pretty old to have been the mother of Burpee. (The birth/christening record of Burpee only states his parentage as son of Richard Prouty or as son of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Prouty, not naming the mother.)
Burpee did have half-siblings. They might have come from Susannah White, but I don't have anything on her, but there is a handwritten notation in the Prouty book (http://contentdm.lib.byu.edu/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=%2FFH38&CISOPTR=42568&REC=3&CISOBOX=Burpee) that someone wrote indicating that Susannah was Richard Prouty Jr.'s 2nd wife, the marriage date being after Burpee's birth by several years.
The Byron Franklin Curtiss as son of Samuel G. & Esther (Prouty) Curtiss came from a primary Curtiss researcher. I have him on his own in the 1860, 1870 and 1900 censuses, but have not found him in the 1850 census so far.
Thanks for Martha. I had forgotten to add her to SG & Esther.
I may assume that the person who had Mary Ann Prouty as the wife of Emory Miller had the 1802 birth date but I'd have to look again through the posts.Do you have supporting evidence for Mary Ann & Ira Hatch? Specifically as Mary Ann (Prouty) Hatch as daughter of Burpee?
Documentation for Ira Otis Prouty & wife Mary Nixon?
And let me make a correction on my initial post. I had put Avis Prouty as Burpee's 2nd wife when I meant to type in Avis Marcy (which is shown in the text below).
