All families with various spelling of the German Pfaffenberger arrived in 1733. They migrated to Berks,Co. PA. Te oldest son,George Jr. migrated to West Virginia and was killed during the French and Indian War. He had two sons, George, born 29 May 1745 in Stouchsburgh, Berks, Co.,PA. In 1773, he married Elizabeth Galley and settled in Sugar Grove. Pendleton.Co. The second son. Peter was born in Tulpehocken, probably Stouchsburgh about 1747. He married Mary Shobe and settled in Petersburg, Hardy County, now Grants County. They may have had 12 children, one named William but I have no information on him.All Puffenbarger (or other spellings) in West Virginia come from these two sons. There are still many by that name. I made a vist only last month. Please refer to From Germany to Antietam, the early history of the Pfaffenberger family, third edition, 2009, Xlibris.com. There are copies in many libraries.
