Bear with me as you read this, but we need your help in finding long lost family…
Concerning Muskegon MI PUFFER family through Diane Marie Puffer married to Byron Clarke Marr, gave birth to daughter Wendy Sue Marr in October of 1974 in Muskegon.Wendy was adopted out at the age of nine in CA.She has the following news below that was sent to Nebraska newspaper for help. Please read, you are from the Muskegon Puffer family... WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Two years ago, I met a woman and became friends with her here in Homer AK.She was new to town and had moved from the lower 48.She had a daughter the same age as my two girls and we have become closer because of this. She let me know that she had been adopted and would like to one day find her brother and her sister.Being a genealogy buff, I offered to help her.We searched twice over the last two years and found nothing.Today I offered it again on a whim, asking her what her family names were again. She told me her brother was “Brandon Marr” that would be the most likely one to find, in case the sister had married and the mom had a different name.I tried several Google searches before stumbling onto some obituaries for Nicole L. Chacon.I turned to Wendy and asked her “what was your sister’s name?”“Nicole” she said. The obituary listed Nicole’s two daughters, her parents and her brother.I asked her again what her step-father’s name had been, “Byron” she said.I kept my eyes on my screen as I confirmed all of these names.I turned to her knowing I had to tell her what I had found. She named her daughter after the sister she never saw again, giving her the middle name Nycole. The obit is listed here:
Nicole L. Chacon
Nicole L. Chacon, 24, Tecumseh, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. She was (born) July 6, 1979, at Milton, Fla., and was employed as a waitress at Fraziers Café in Tecumseh.
Survivors: parents, Byron and Diane Marr of Tecumseh; daughters, Ana and Carmen Chacon of Tecumseh; brother, Brandon Marr of Table Rock; aunts, uncles, cousins.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, Wherry Brothers Mortuary, Third and Jackson streets, Tecumseh. Visitation at the mortuary on Friday from 2 p.m.-8 p.m., and Sat. from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may go the family's choice. Wherry Brothers Mortuary, Tecumseh, in charge of arrangements.
Wendy?s birth mother was Diane Marie (Puffer) Marr, her father on her birth certificate was listed as Byron Marr, but her mother had said that the true father was someone named Greg. When Wendy was nine, they were living in CA and she was put up for adoption through Byron’s sister Patricia.Wendy remembers her little brother Brandon who was about two when she left, and her sister “Nicki” who was about four. She has their birthdays. It matched your obituary date for Nicole Chacon’s birthday, 7-6-79.
When I showed her, she shook her head no, that’s not the right names.I told her, Wendy, yes, they are all there. She’s gone. It was all I could do to try not to cry as I watched her read the words. We stopped and cried and hugged for awhile. She said she didn’t want to find Brandon or anything else, she was in shock.I told her, honey, Nichole had children, two girls, Brandon is still alive and we have their towns now, we can find them! She had two babies, there is something left of her in this world for us to find!!
She agreed and cheered up.
Which led me to doing more research.Wendy is 30 years old and has waited her most of her life to hear from the siblings she lost so long ago.I found the name Byron Marr nine blocks from the Frazier Café, on the internet phone books but the number is disconnected.
Please consider, if someone knows Brandon, he might not know that Wendy even exists. However, her biological parents Diane Marie and Byron Clarke Marr do. We think that Spirit is involved with finding her family, since Nicole passed away almost a year from today, just two weeks shy. I think that Nicole has something to do with our success today.Brandon lost a sister, and a year later if all works well, he may gain one back that he may never have known was lost to him.Ana and Carmen Chacon have an Aunt and a cousin they have never known, please help us to reach this family.I ask you to search your heart and please respond to me at least to let me know how you feel about this and if you can help us in any way to reach Brandon and the others by running a story, please consider it.
I thank you for your time.
