Happy to share what I have.In checking my sources I noticed the following and am wondering if the Joseph Tomlinson listed here is your heir also?Have you seen this document??

Arnold, Hannah - Daughter and Devisee, Will of John Gard, 2 Will Book 238, September 6, 1823. (believe this is Richard Arnold's wife)
Arnold is my paternal line, Richard Arnold is my 3x's gr-grandfather. I visited Parkersburg, WV courthouse and public library about 6 yrs ago. I am sure I missed a lot as I only had one day to do it. Copies of the following:
Inventory of Richard Arnold Estate, lists John as executor along with mother Hannah; Will of John Gard; Early Marriage Records of Wood Co, covering the Arnolds and some of the Athey's;Copy of John and Sarah Athey Arnold's marriage liscense (from a cousin also researching; Copy of Quit Claim deed for John and Levi Arnold to Lott and Richard Arnold; Copy of Indenture, David Uhl and others Joseph Pugh and others. (David Uhl married Sarah Arnold a daughter of Richard. This document lists heirs of Richard including married daugher's names(I don't think this was a hostile action but one done to make things legal). I posted this document along with others on the Wood Co, WV US Genweb page a few years ago.It is probably archived now.QCBook 11, page 179,Quit claim deed. John Arnold and Levi Arnold to Lot G Arnold and Richard Arnold for $80, 27 August 1833. Witnesses: Joseph Pugh, David V Uhl and Elias Keller.I do not know the relationship of Joseph Pugh, but David Uhl and Elias Keller were bro-in-laws of all.
QC Deed Bk 11, page 78. Samuel Gard to Lot G Arnold 11 Oct, 1833 and witnessed: Joseph Pugh, Richard Arnold (son) and Levi Newbanks.
Pioneer of Wood co, WV by John House pub 1984,page 346 gives an account of Richard Arnold. He does not list Levi as Richard's son on that page, but on page 347 in an outline of the Ingraham family he gives, "Sarah Ingraham married Levi Arnold, a son of Richard in 1822.
In History of Wood Co, WV by Donald F. Black , Appendix D marriages: Levi to Sarah Ingraham Dec 5, 1822, John to Sarah Athey on May 5, 1821, Hannah A Arnold to Jesse Pugh Oct 18, 1838.
Heritage Encyclopedia vol 8, by Jim Comstock, 1974 gives a brief bio on Jesse Pugh which states, " ... a son of John and Nancy Pugh, who came to Wood County as early as 1798....his grandfather came from Holland, his grandmother from Virginia (does not name them). He was born in 1808, and married in 1838 Hannah A Arnold, a daughter of Richard and Hannah Arnold, who were early pioneers, coming to Wood county in 1798."It gives her birthplace as Williams districtand lists children: Willis b 1839, living at time of biography in Lexington, MO, Seldon b 1841, two born and died, Rufus 1847 and Arius 1851, Jesse A. b 1856, listed as living at home. Family address: Williwmstown, Wood co, WV.
I don't have an exact age or birth place for Richard Arnold sr, he died 1823 and last age listing on 1820 census was 45 plus. The widow Arnold was 60 plus when last listed in 1840, after that she disappears.
John his son came to McArthur, OH area in 1820's according to his grandson Paul's biography and obit. Census backs this up. John b 1790/95 died 1843, buried Elk Fork Cem, Athens/Vinton co, OH.
In Williams History of Washington co, OH 1788-1881 p 720, "Levi Arnold came form Wood Co, VA and first settled on farm now owned by Dixon Graham ...was born in VA in 1801, and was married to Sarah Ingram, who was born 1803 and died 1867.He died in Missouri in 1867. ...son Benjamin F. born Wesley twp 1825, married Maria Palmer ... born 1827...12 children.
The OTHER LEVI:In History of Hocking Valley, OH pub 1883, an account of a Archibald Arnold, gives his father as Levi Arnold, born in Hampshire Co, VA and died at age 49, wife Mary Elizabeth Booker native of MD, died McArthur, OH age ca 82. Archibald born 1814, was 8th of 9 children. He was a blacksmith and it was he who married 4 times. (oops, I wrote earlier that Levi married 3 times wrong on both counts!) Archibalds wifes were:Tabitha Fry, died 1840, Salome Brandenberry, died 1845 and Effie Aultman Taylor, sister of his 2nd wife and finally Elizabeth Throckmorton. This line is also mentioned in an article about Miss Lennie Arnold in the book, Hanging Rock Region of OH, gives her father as William, a blacksmith, as was his father, James and his father Archibald, one of the pioneers from the Old Dominion.pages 1183-4
I'd sure like to find out if the two Levi's are related.Wonder if he was an uncle of the Levi who married Sarah Ingram? With all the Pugh connections in the Wood Co area of WV it seems like they have to connect to the Arnold/Pugh lines of John and Hannah Parke Arnold of Cacapon Valley. According to Donald Black in the"History of Wood Co, WV," a number of early settlers had served under James Wood, and were veterans of the French and Indian War and Indian Wars of 1789-1795. I saw on one of the lists, Arnold or Pugh, I didn't write it down, a Mary Wood as wife and wondered about a connection to James Wood.
