The Casmir A. Pulaski who died in 1969 was likely named for the Polish Count who fought in the Rev. War.He was known as "The Father of the American Cavalry."He was born 4 Mar. 1747 in Podolia, Poland. He was seriously wounded in a battle defending Savannah, Ga. on 8 Oct. 1779 and died two days later aboard the ship "Wasp."At least 7 counties and quite a number of towns in the US are named for him. There is a wealth of information about him on the Internet. He is not in my lineage.I just finished reading former Pres. Jimmy Carter's book "The Hornet's Nest" which is about the Rev. War and Count Casmir Pulaski's victories are written about in it.
