Adding to and correcting PULLEN info for Capt. Samuel M. Pullen, who was thought to be son of Lindsey Pullen. It has come to light that he was Samuel Montgomery Pullen and son of William Pullen that d. bef. 19 Dec 1814 in Lancaster Co., VA.Check out following for the info found in Lancaster Co., Administrations, Orphans Court Records, - ancestry.com - Message Boards > Surnames >. Pullen.Samuel was an orphan by 19 May 1817 and Thaddeus Mitchell was appointed guardian.William had 4 older siblings, William, Mary, John and Sally. It appears that the father William was b. bef. 1765 and m. 1) Hannah Bailey and 2) Molly Luckhan.William had no wife and 4 children on 1810 Census. He had a widow in 1816, but did not give her name.Mary and John had guardians by 1817 and it was stated that they were orphansof William.Samuel is not listed there and possibly because his mother was still living if the 2nd wife and widow mentioned in the papers of William. But Thaddeus Mitchell was appointed guardian for Samuel 15 Jun 1818, which could mean that Samuel became an orphan later than the older children and could be the child of a 2nd wife.In 1817 Mary had chosen her older brother William as her guardian and John chose James Ball.Have not seen where a guardian chosen for Sally. We still believe that this William could be related to the Lindsey in Lancaster/Fredericksburg but don't know how as yet.Anybody out there have any knowledge of these people? We have no idea why middle name of Samuel is Montgomery as well or why Thaddeus Mitchell was chosen as his firstname.lastname@example.org.
