Alsey Pulliam and his wife, Frances McClendon, were both born in North Carolina, then they were probably married in Tennessee. Presumed daughter Leatha or Luvina marriedJames W Alvis in Lawrence Co TN in 1827. Among the very few McClendons I have found in Tennessee at that early date, there was a man named Nathan McClendon. I have discovered online that Nathan McClendon signed a bond along with John A Hail (the brother of James W Alvis's mother, Nancy (Hail) Alvis) and James P Crawford, who married James's sister, Jenny (or Jerry Jane) Alvisin that county in 1822. This looks to be like good evidence linking Leatha Pulliam to her presumed parents, and her mother Frances to Nathan McClendon's family.
