Hi Cuz, Thanks for kind words re: Flem.He was truly a special man! JDP's father was Thomas Pullum.Daddy said Thomas' wife's name was Mahalia, but she was called "Haley".Records show a man by that name in Union Springs, Al. before, during, and after War Beteen the States.U.S. was first part of Macon County, then was county seat of Bullock County when Yankees formed it from Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, and PIKE Counties as part of Reconstruction.Thomas had a brother named Frank who was a vet of Mexican War and was one-legged.He ran the livery stable and made harnesses.Thomas was a politician, and had title of Judge, but was just a Justice of the Peace.Operated Pullum House hotel and was part owner of Pullum and Sessions Drug Store. His name is on cornerstone of court house. Would love to swap more info. Please RSVP to e-mail address if interested.
