Charlie Burns was a vet of the War Between the States, and had to walk home from "the North" after the war ended.It ruined his feet and put him to bed for several days, per stories handed down in the family.Charlie Thomas Pullum was the namesake of both grandfathers.He died in an accident during a picnic at the old college in Newton, Al., when a shotgun was lifted out of the wagon so the boys could practice their shooting and it went off, striking him and killing him.

Per stories told within our family, Daddy (i.e., Flem Pullum) had one brother who moved to Texas and another who moved to Florida.
Ten children of J. D. and E. B. Pullum were (sons) William, Charlie Thomas, Wesley, Flem, Byrd, Carl, (daughters) Dove, Pearl, Verlon, and Blanche. Birth order probably not correct, except that William was oldest and Charlie Thomas was next oldest.Carl was youngest boy.
Blanche Pullum Sutton, wife of Lewis Sutton, is buried in Americus, Ga.
