I have found additional information on the LDS site in the Pedigree resource file, concerning Martha Purdy's family - parents, and very importantly, siblings. (Martha Purdy, married Joel Wheaton).
The pedigree file is not always very accurate, so I would like verification of what I found there with more info., please.
The Pedigree resource file doesn't have Martha listed, but I know by the files on her siblings, that it would be claimed her parents are Nehemiah Purdy, born 1797 in NY, and JoAnn Robinson, born 1804 in NY.Nehemiah was a wheelwright, and evidently according to census, 1830, in Roxbury, Delaware Co, NY, 1840, still in Roxbury, 1850 - in Hamden, Delaware Co, NY, 1860 - in Walton Delaware Co, NY and in 1870 in Tompkins, Delaware Co, NY. The file claims Nehemiah son of John with unkown wife, son of John who married Elizabeth Whelpley, son of Deliverance who married Rebecca Green, and eventually a descendant of the Francis Purdy who settle in Fairfield CT.
According to the Pedigree files, Martha Purdy's sibling info;
Darius Purdy, born 1836 in Delaware Co NY married Esther, 1850 census in Hamden, Delaware Co, NY, 1860, in Walton, Delaware Co, NY.
Lydia Purdy, born 1825 in NY died 1905 and buried in Walton, Delaware Co, NY, married Isaac Davis, and in 1850 and 1860 census, in Andes, Delware Co, NY, and in 1870 census in Tompkins, Delaware Co, NY.
Harriet L. Purdy, born March 1835 in Roxbury, Dleware Co, NY, in 1850 census in Hamden, Dleware Co, NY, married Edgar G. McClure in 1892, and died February 1904.
I would like verification, that this Nehemiah Purdy did marry JoAnn Robinson, and had Martha and her siblings, and more info on parentage and ancestry of Nehemiah and JoAnn, if this is correct.I can't find anything about Nehemiah and JoAnn (Joanna) on internet so far.I would truly appreciate help on this one.I expect this family has a fascinating Colonial New England ancestry.Thanks - Andrew.
