Prior Green was one of four brothers, the other three were John, Solomon, and Hugh, who was my g-g-grandfather. Hugh remained in NC, while the other three emigrated to GA. John Pusser is the g-g-grandfather of Buford Pusser. Of the four brothers, Hugh and Solomon died in the Civil War. Prior Green and John also served in that terrible war. Our X times grandmother, Anna Mullis widowed in 1832, married John Rushing in 1833, and had four sons and a daughter with him. Of her eight sons, five were killed in that war. Your great-uncle, William Purser, has written a book about his life containing pictures of his family and that of Nettie Mae's, plus a great amount of history of the family. The name of the book is "My Guardian Angel, the Invisible Crewman", by William Purser. I just checked and it is available from Amazon.com, for you, it is a"must", even contains a picture of Prior Green. David Purser's parents were John Purser, 1757-1826 and Susannah Cuthbertson. John served in the Revolutionary War with Capt. Charles Polk's Unit of Light Horse. If you are interested, I have quite a bit of information on John Purser, 1757-1826, plus Billy White's book on the Purser families of GA which covers the lines of the three brothers. It's always nice to meet another cousin. If you want to contact your great-uncle, I have his email address. Please feel free to contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
