I just wanted to make a statement here that all the Pussers and Pursers of the above named states are related, and stem from John Purser, 1750-1826 of North Carolina. The Georgia Pursers stem from the brothers John Pusser and Pryor Green Pusser from North Carolina. The Tennessee Pussers stem from John Pusser's son, Richard Steelus Pusser, ( GA to TN).Pryor Green and John Pusser are the sons of David Purser, ( son of John Purser), and Anna Mullis. By her first marriage to David, Anna had 4 sons, John, Solomon, Hugh, and Pryor Green, all served in the Civil War, Solomon and Hugh died in that War. Anna's 2nd marriage to John Rushing produced four sons and a daughter, 3 of those sons also died in that war. The Pursers of Lee County Texas stem from Richard Purser, son of John Purser of NC, the Pursers of Marion County, Alabama, stem from Moses Purser, son of John Purser of NC, and the Persers of Arkansas stem from Robert Purser, son of John Purser of NC. The Pussers and Pursers of Union County, NC stem from Hugh Pusser, son of David and Anna Mullis. Solomon Pusser had but 2 children, John Hampton and Matilda K Pusser, I find no children for John Hampton, but Matilda married and had children.
