Thank you cousin Marlene for that information.please correct the following if I have it wrong. Julius and Nealie had the following children: 1. Claude Anderson Pusser, 1909-1987. 2. Julius Mildred Pusser Jr. 1913-1983. 3. Howard Lee Pusser 1914- 1993. 4. James Carl Pusser 1915-1978. 5. Thomas Fred Pusser 1916-1989. 6.Mary Geneva Pusser 1918. 7. Homer Edward Pusser 1921-1978. 8. Cornelia Irene Pusser 1919. 9. J.Hue or Jhue Pusser 1923-1990 10.Mamie Hazel Pusser 1924-1926. 11. MargieChristene Pusser 1925. 12 Helen Odessa Pusser 1929-1977. 13. Clarence Vaughn Pusser 1932 14. Alice Maxine Pusser 1935. I know that some of these children later went by Purser, although Julius'name was Pusser. I have copies of both of his marriage licenses, and his name is shown as "Julius Pusser", son of "Cull" ( that's Green Culpepper Pusser, my great-grandfather), on the 1903 license to Hettie Godwin. On the 1911 license to Nealie he is shown as " J. M. Pusser, son of "G. C. Pusser", and he signs that he and Nealie are free to marry as "J.M. Pusser. After William Purser, son of Jeremiah Purser, signed over the land that he had inherited from his father to Hugh Pusser, and then left the area, there were no Pursers in Union County. After Hugh's brothers, John, Solomon, and Pryor Green Pusser left for Georgia in 1848, the only Pussers in Union County were Hugh's family, and the two abandoned children of Solomon, John Hampton Pusser, and his sister, Matilda K. Pusser. The marriage of Julius' father to his mother, is listed as "Pusser, G. C. - son of Hugh and Frances- to Lydia Hagler--Jan. 4, 1872". There is no big deal about the name, I just wanted to point out that Julius was born a Pusser. Now, as to where Anna might be buried. I'd hazard a guess that she might be buried in the old Brooks Cemetery, just downslope of the graveyard at New Hope Baptist Church near New Salem in Union County. John's first wife, Katherine Tarlton is buried there, and it is said so is John. Frances Austin Pusser Mullis is buried at New Hope, although her 2nd husband, Calvin Mullis is buried at Old Brooks, along with his 1st wife, Temperance Rushing, daughter of John and Katherine. Someone, ( and I have a good idea who), has placed a nice double stone at Frances' grave, showing her as "FanniePurser", in spite ofthe fact that her 2nd marriage to Calvin shows her as "Pusser, Frances--(daughter of Deberry and ---Austin) to Calvin Mullis ( son of______& Nancy) ( a note here, Calvin was the son of James Marshall Mullis and Nancy Johnson, so he was the brother of Andrew Jackson Mullis, who was married to Temperance Rushing's sister, Mary Jane Rushing)--- Sept. 18, 1871. Julius' uncle, Milas Deberry Pusser, married Margaret Philadelphia "Delphia" Mullis, daughter of Andrew Jackson Mullis and Mary Jane Rushing on June 6, 1866.In the 1860 census, Hugh and Frances were living near John and Anna. Living with John and Anna is Anna's mother, Rachel Brewer Mullis, who's age is shown as 102! ( she was in her 90's). In the same census, Calvin is living nearby, without Temperance, just their children.
