Hi,
I find it hard to believe that Samuel
De PurVaiance or Purviance as you know him,
was born in Ireland. He was born in France
and fled France to Ireland, after The Edict
of Nantes in France, where people had to
convert to The Church of France [Catholicism]
or die.
Unless, of course, your Samuel was a son of
the 3 Purviance brothers who went to live
in Castle Finn [village], near their cousins
the Purveyance family, who probably changed
their surname from De PurVaiance as well.
But, the original Samuel went to Scotland.
Sorry if I've confused you.
