Mark, Thanks once again for your info. Most interesting. I will chase up all these Atchesons you mentioned. The reference to the minister is most interesting because the Purvines head stones each have a Bible verse. Robert Gordon PURVINES is still a little unclear. You mentioned that he emigarted about 1869. I have assumed (???) that he is a son of Thomas PURVINES and Matilda GORDON, born (in Bathurst???) in 1855.
The marriage to Caroline PRICE is also interesting. As you mentioned caroline was only 15 years old, yet they were married in Balranald. Her parents (William and Damaris - this is the correct spelling of a name spelt many ways) came to Australia in 1844 with their friends the Holliers. They worked at Ryde in the brand new Willandra House (still standing on corner of Devlin St and Victoria Rd) own by James Devlin. James went bankrupt. He also part owned Kilfera in Balranald. This explains why caroline may have been in Balranald. But why did she and her parents move to Bathurst?
I have assumed her parents did live in Bathurst, but you are the first to indicate this. Would you have any other information about them?
The James Miller you mentioned is my g-grandfather and I would love any information about him.
