I don't have a Matilda Gordon marrying a Thomas Purvines.David Gordon and his wife Matilda nee Purvines emigrated in 1849, but I would be very interested in any evidence you have of a Matilda nee Gordon being out here as well.I have no evidence of any of David's siblings.Matilda Gordon nee Purvines had a brother Thomas who died age 65 on 16 November 1894, but I know very little about him.
Are you sure Robert's middle name was "Gordon"?If so this may point to a closer relationship between the 2 families in Ireland.I don't have a middle name for him. I'll look up where I got my information on the Prices and get back to you when I find it.
I don't know any more about James Miller, although there are Millers from the Orkney Islands on my mother's side of the family (something to do with a minister of religion) but she has just moved house and she is still unpacking boxes. She will give me information when she has found it, as she said that Miller is not a common name in the Orkneys.Well, from memory it's the Orkneys but it's a while since she's researched it, so don't get your hopes up in case she's mistaken.I'll let you know one way or the other.
I'll also try and find out where I got "Demetries" from.Very interesting about Willandra House and James Devlin.I know where Willandra House is and I think Devlins Creek would have been named after James.
