Karrie , the followingmay be old news as your posting is from so long ago and much can be found on ancestry.com.Your great aunt, VeraGoode, signed George Marion's Death Certificate which shows date of death as Feb 21, 1949 and place of birth as Hopedale, Illinois, but I can only be sure of the date as much is designated D.K. (don’t know) on the certificate.I have an image of the certificate which I can send to you. Also I think there is an unconfirmed older sister to Clarence ,George, and Hattie, named Alice or Alace b. 1859.
Does anyone know why John Campbell Purviance left Denton, Texas where, according to the 1900 Federal Census, he was living with George Marion? He apparently moved to Iowa where he died Feb 6, 1903 and is buried Red Oak, Montgomery Iowa.George Marion’s sisterHattie marriedHans Williamson and can be found on the Iowa 1895 Census but had moved from Iowa to Norton, Kansas by the 1910 Federal Census. So I don’t know if this is the connection as I had difficulty locating the family on the 1900 Federal Census.Information on their family is on ancestry.com., but Karrie, I think my notes are sufficient enough to get you started if you need them.
Two more items; John Walker Purviance has a granddaughter who has been in touch with me and I will share your postings with her-- and Clarence Lee also had a daughter Ester b. 1888 from his first marriage to Lizzie May Gardenhire b.Aug 7, 1869 d. Dec 19, 1889, buried Denver Cemetery, Montague, Texas. All I know is Ester has a daughter whose married name is Kathleen Dunn.
Please share information with me and I’ll be happy to provide any information I can.I’m researching multiple families, Purviance, Davie, Walker, Mason, Nichols and have only been doing this since July so I’m definitelymultitasking.
