The following Pypers were in Lonmay in the late 1600's to the 1800's.
From "List of Pollable Person in the Shire of Aberdeen in 1696" Presbytery of Deer, Parish of Lonmey (sic), The Lands of Tolqhon: William Robertson, tennent, and his wife Isobell Pypere; John Cruden, tennent, and his wife Janet Milnes, William Pyper, his son in law, in the house with him; Janet Pyper, tennet, Gavin Milne, her sone, in house with her and Isobell and Agnes Miln (daughters) in her house; William Pyper, tennent, and his wife Margaret Milne, James, William Pypers (sons) and Janet (daughter).

Here lyes the body of John Piper, sometime turner in Overtown Lonmay, who departed this life 24 Aug 1777 aged 41 years, and Janet Morgan, died 19 Oct 1781(?), aged 52 and William Pyper sometime farmer in Overtown of Lonmay who died 26 Aug 1805 age 66.
In memory of Alexander Pyper, late joiner in Uppertown of Lonmay who died 1829 aged 86 years, and his wife Margaret Hutchison who died 1811 aged 65 years, also their sons Andrew interred here who died at Aberdeen 1795 aged 21 years, Alexander who died near Jedburgh 1807 aged 27 years, and Thomas Pyper who died at Edingburgh 1820 aged 37 years.Erected by John Pyper, mason at Peterhead, son and brother of the foresaid 1st July 1847.
Erected by the wife and family of the deceased John Pyper who died at St. Combs 25 Sep 1850 aged 66 years, also of his son George H. Pyper, who died at Glasgow 17 Jan 1851 aged 22 years, and of Ann Cheyne, mother of the family who died 26 Jan 1879 aged 85 years.
Erected by Isabella Sivewright in memory of her husband Alexander Pyper who died at Strichen 12 Oct 1884 aged 65 years.The above Isabella Sivewright died at Stichen 7 Apr 1904 aged 79 years.
In Memory of William Pyper who lived in Nethertown of Lonmay, he died 30 ??? 1757 aged 77, also Margaret Cairo(?) who died March 1753 aged 51 years, and their children Alexander Pyper who died 15 Feb 1740 aged 14, Marjory Pyper died 6 Aug 1757 aged 29 years, Mary Pyper died 20 Sep 1760 aged 32, Isabel Pyper who died in the infirmary 1 Sep 1801, and Thomas Pyper died 1 Sep 1804 aged 69 years.
