I live in Marietta, GA and was at the Georgia Archives yesterday and saw the following information in the lateral file on Pyron.
"Pyron Family Drury Pyron was a son of Wiliam Pyron, a pioneer settler in Green Co., GA. Correct spelling of name is PYRON Rachel Pyron, daughter of James Pyron, early settler of GA Rachel Pyron and Drury Pyron were 1st Cousins. ------- Brothers, Early Settlers of GA -- Wm Pyron b: 1770, James Pyron b. 1776
Wm Pyron married Miss Allen, daughter of Drury Allen - Lived in Greene Co., GA
James Pyron 1776, married Lucy Johnson, duahgter of Stephen Johnson, probably of Wilkes Co., GA James and Lucy Johnson Pyron moved to Jackson Co., GA Two daughter of James Pyron married two sons of William The two marriages produced a great number of double cousins. Signed: Mrs. John E. Dance nee Frances L. Pyron"
Along side the above information she wrote: Frances L. Pyron, great granddaughter of James & Lucy Johnson Pyron of Jackson Co., GA at the time of their deaths, they were in Jackson Co., -- (From Family Bible Record).
This was the only piece of paper in the file.I know that Drury Allen was a Revolutionary Soldier and his will is recorded in Pike Co., GA.An interesting fact about Drury Allen was that he did not come home until 7 years after the War was over.He has been proven to National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution by many people.I have a first cousin by marriage who is a descendant of Drury Allen.
